Manufactured home ceilings are typically built differently than site-built homes — often without a structural ceiling joist directly where you’d want a fan mounted, and sometimes with thinner ceiling material that can’t support a standard fan-rated electrical box without additional bracing. We assess this on-site and install proper fan-rated boxes and bracing rather than mounting directly to ceiling material that isn’t built for the load.
Swapping a fan into an existing light fixture location is usually straightforward. Adding a fan where there’s no existing electrical box requires running new wiring and installing a properly rated box — more involved, but routine work for us.
