Line-Voltage vs. Low-Voltage Landscape Lighting
Rancho Mirage estate landscape lighting typically uses one or both of these approaches:
Line-voltage (120V): Direct-burial cable from the panel to each fixture. Provides maximum brightness for facade uplighting, long runs, and high-output spotlights. Requires licensed electrical work and permits for new circuits.
Low-voltage (12V): Transformer-based systems with 12V cable connecting multiple fixtures. Lower cost for pathway and accent lighting; fixtures consume less power. Compatible with smart controllers and timers.
We assess each landscape lighting project and recommend the appropriate system — or a combination of both — based on the property’s layout, the desired light levels, and the existing outdoor circuit infrastructure.
